Liberal Voices welcomes original articles from Liberal Democrat members and supporters. Submit your views, analysis or policy ideas for publication.

Many Liberal Democrat members and friends have longed for a website where liberal ideas can be promoted, debated and shared, without being stifled by the dead hand of party apparatchiks and petty censorship. This is why Liberal Voices has been launched.

You may have become disillusioned with the party’s drift towards authoritarianism and its culture of not rocking the boat for fear of causing offence. This is not the way to create a liberal future. Bad ideas and complacency should always be challenged and should not be above criticism. If the party is going to excite and energise supporters and voters, we need some new omelettes, so it will be necessary to break a few eggs.

If you have ideas and opinions that you would like to share, please submit an article. If you have something to say, we will publish it. If it needs editing, we will tidy it up for you. The content is what counts. It doesn’t matter if you are a well known member or have only just joined. We want to see the party succeed with a platform that can attract voters.

We are looking for new thinking and intelligent analysis, not personality politics or attacks on individuals. Please don’t submit articles that have been published elsewhere.

How to Submit an Article

Please email a summary of your article to [email protected].

If accepted for publication, we will ask you to send the full article text along with a short author bio.

Author Photos and Gravatar

Authors may optionally display a profile photo alongside their articles and comments on the site. Liberal Voices uses the WordPress/Gravatar system for this.

Gravatar is a widely used service that lets you associate a profile image with your email address. Once set up, your photo automatically appears on any website that supports Gravatar — including Liberal Voices — whenever you publish an article or leave a comment using that email address.

Using Gravatar has a few advantages:

  • You stay in control of your photo. If you ever want to change it, you simply update it in your Gravatar account and the change will appear automatically.
  • It works across the web. The same photo can appear on many different websites that support Gravatar.
  • No passwords to remember. Creating a Gravatar profile is quick and simple.

If you would like your photo to appear on Liberal Voices, simply create a free account at Gravatar using the same email address you use to submit articles.

If you prefer not to display a profile photo, that is absolutely fine — your articles can still be published without one.

  2. Enter your email address and name, and submit your profile photo
